SCEC, in partnership with GIZ, organized an engagement meeting with microfinance institutions (MFIs) and banks based in Baidoa to discuss strategies for improving access to loans and grants for youth-led cooperatives. The meeting, held at Haldoor Hotel on March 7, 2025, focused on fostering collaboration to address youth unemployment and enhance financial inclusion for marginalized communities, including IDPs, returnees, and host communities. Key discussions revolved around loan products, selection criteria, and processes for providing financial support to vocational training graduates and cooperatives in the region. The outcome is expected to strengthen the support systems available for youth entrepreneurship and employment in Baidoa.
